Dear Odette

Dear Odette is a series of illustrations for a YA novel concept of the same title, featuring a wraparound book jacket and three full color interior illustrations. The story follows the titular Odette, a sorceress princess who hopes to escape the life set out before her, and Juniper, a baker’s-apprentice-turned-knight, who tries desperately to cling to the normalcy of her life while secretly wishing for something more exciting. At its core, the story centers around learning to overcome the vulnerability and fear that can come with exploring one’s own identity, and the joy of finally accepting that identity. Each interior illustration, titled, Flight Over the City, The Tournament, and Reunion, depicts a specific moment in the story, while also showcasing the environments and overall aesthetics of the world of the novel.
